Capital Area Preservation Fundraiser Print Raffle

Enter a raffle to win a fine art canvas giclee of the historic Fuquay Mineral Spring Inn. Tickets are $5. and all proceeds go to the Capital Area Preservation. The raffle will be at the conclusion of the F-V Landmarks Tour around 5:30pm Saturday April 25 at the Fuquay Mineral Spring Inn and Garden.



Purchase your tickets this Saturday at the Inn, you need to be present to win. The Landmarks tour is a project of CAP, Wake County Historic Preservation Commision, F-V Woman's Club, F-V Centinnial Committee and the F-V Questers #1134.

Essential Wildlife Art Adventure Open House

You are invited to join us Saturday, March 21 for our Wildlife Art Open House. Art from the Greenwich Workshop family of artist will be on exhibit and for sale. Special guest, North Carolina artist Duane Raver will be at the gallery showing some of his art, as well as, conducting a slide show. The open house is from 2:pm to 5:pm. Mr. Raver's slide show should be at 3:pm.
Saxophonist Tom Leonard will provide the live music.

Art After Dark Party Planned

Join us Friday February 13 from 5:pm to 8:pm for a Art After Dark Celebration. Local businesses in Fuquay-Varina and Holly springs will stay open late on this Friday to promote North Carolina Art. Ashley's will have NC Pottery on sale and an informal wine tasting.

The Story:
It’s hard work being a foal. First off, after you are born, you don’t even get a meal until you stand. By the way, those legs you have to stand on can be nearly 90% the size of those on a full grown horse. You need those big legs because every day they have to support the additional two to three pounds you’ve grown. Then, of course, one has to play.It’s a big beautiful world you’ve been born into and, heck, they don’t call it “horsin’ around” for nothing. Somebody has to do it. Spring is in the air. There are the other colts and fillies to impress, food to eat, mares to trot beside, more food, dirt to roll in, maybe a snack, bugs everywhere, more food, and so on.Every now and then it does one good to fall down in the closest patch of green grass and spring blossoms and grab a little siesta. After all, it’s hard work being a foal.
